This trip has actually made Hollywood Studios one of Erin's favorite parks, with lots of fun things to do including Toy Story Land And Star Wars Galaxy Edge.
Toy Story Land: This is super cool to check out, especially if you haven't seen this part of the park before. The whole land was created to make you feel like you yourself are one of Andy's Toys, so walking around makes you feel so small. There are also some great rides located within this part of the park too! - Alien Swirling Saucers: This is a fun re-make on the classic Tilt-a-Whirl rides you would find in a carnival. What is great about this ride is that you are more slung side-to-side than spun around in circles, even Erin goes on this ride and she tends to get more motion sick. - Toy Story Mania!: This ride is great to go on with people of all ages, because it's really made more to me a target game. You go around sling shooting at different targets and the player out of the two in a car with the highest score wins. Star Wars Galaxy's Edge: Last time we went to DisneyWorld together, Star Wars Land was only open to select guests (passholders and employees) with a limited time slot. It was great to be able to go and actually explore this time as well. The Imagineers really outdid themselves with this part of the park, since you really do feel like you're in one of the Star Wars Movies. - Savi's Workshop: We personally didn't go here while during our time in the park, but for those Star Wars fans this would be the place to go to custom-make your very own lightsaber. There are four different themes to choose from for your lightsaber, and each one is about $220 without tax. This is also something you need to reserve way ahead of time to ensure you get in if you plan on going, the chances of finding a open spot on the day of are slim. So this would be something to book alongside your park reservation. - Droid Depot: This was one of our splurges on the trip. Here you can build your very own droid. There are two build options, either a BB unit or R-series unit. The one pro about the R-series unit if that there is more customization available for it than the BB-unit, and there are also additional accessories for the R-series to buy for your droid in the shop on your way out. These are about $99 each, or $175 for the bundle which includes a carrying bag and personality chip. The cool thing about these droids, is that they interact with the Galaxy Edge park, each differently depending on the personality chip. Like Savi's Workshop this requires reservations ahead of time. - Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance: This is by far one of the best rides in all four parks, so it's definitely worth the effort to try and get on. This ride lets you be apart of the resistance, and battle the First Order. The effects used on this ride make you feel like you are in a literal movie, from start to end this ride outdid itself, and makes you appreciate the movies way more. This ride can be difficult to get on, as you need to get on the virtual que right as it opens up at 7 am. We were lucky to get in que right at 7, but still had to wait until 3pm to get on, and while it was very much worth it, if you have your heart set on this ride you might want to plan the whole day in the park in case your boarding group goes on late in the day. Other Not-To-Be-Missed Attractions: - Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway: This is a classic ride in the park, and lots of fun. You get to go through a cartoon-themed adventure with classic Disney characters. We went to this first right away when it opened up otherwise, you might be waiting in a very long line. - Twilight Zone Tower of Terror: Personally, this ride is not our cup of tea, so we didn't go on ourselves. However, if you love big drops in rides, this one's for you. This is definitely not a park to miss, and though we might not have mentioned everything there is do to at Hollywood Studios, it is definitely worth exploring the park yourself.

We tried a few other random food items from Hollywood Studios this trip too in Galaxy's Edge and in a kiosk. All of these foods have been promoted majorly by other food blogs and Facebook posts in a group we are in so we wanted to check them out for ourselves!

We love Woody's Lunchbox! We went here our previous trip to Hollywood Studios and HAD to come back again! Luckily this time we were able to get a picnic table. You order for this restaurant through mobile order on your phone and then click "I'm here" when you arrive and they will prepare your order immediately. They will let you in the seating area once you are notified your food is ready. This way they can limit the amount of people in the eating area at one time which helps to be able to find a table! Check out our food from there here (not pictured: our AMAZING root beer floats that really hit the spot on a hot day, we rank them as a 10/10):

We found a super fun dining experience at Hollywood Studios! You get to sit in an old fashioned car and eat your food while watching old sci fi clips on the big screen! This restaurant isn't an out of this world (except on the big screen of course 😉) place to go, but it is a place where those who are picky eaters will enjoy their meal and is good old-fashioned American food. They are following the social distancing and mask guidelines well at this restaurant too. We felt safe eating here. Here is the food we got at Sci-Fi Dine In Theater (not pictured is Elizabeth's turkey sandwich with a regular bun and no condiments, she ranked it as a 7/10):

We didn’t eat a lot at Hollywood Studios this time around, but we did go to a newer restaurant there called Woody’s Lunch Box which is located within Toy Story Land. We used a quick service credit here for our food as well Food we had: BBQ Brisket Grilled Cheese: This was AMAZING! It was super juicy and had the right amount of barbecue sauce on it and a good amount of brisket on each sandwich. We definitely recommend this one. Root Beer Float: Classic root beer float with soft serve vanilla ice cream, delicious and counts as a drink on the meal plan! Tomato Soup (side with the meal, included in price): Good soup, perfect for dipping the sandwich in Macaroni Salad (also a side that is included (you choose either soup, macaroni, or the tater tots): Very refreshing on a hot summer day, it is a cold pasta with some vegetables in it. |
