We LOVE Italian food, and when you think of Italian food you think of: pasta, red sauce, and cheese! This recipe combines all of that into one extremely tasty entree! How do you make lasagna? Do you add anything different? Let us know in the comments or send us an email at [email protected] or a Facebook message.
Ingredients: 2 lbs of ground beef or turkey (omit if you want vegetarian) 2 24 oz jars of your favorite tomato sauce (we like Prego Roasted Garlic and Herb, you can use homemade sauce if you prefer) 32 oz of cottage cheese (can substitute for ricotta if preferred, cottage cheese is moister and tastes better in our opinion) 3 large eggs 2 boxes of ready to bake lasagna sheets 1 white or yellow onion chopped 4 cups of shredded Italian cheese blend (mozzarella, parmesan, asiago, romano, and provolone) (you can just use your favorite shredded cheese if you prefer) 16 oz tomato paste (we like Contadina best) Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees 2. Cook ground beef and chopped onion on stove top, drain grease and let cool 3. Combine tomato sauce and tomato paste in large mixing bowl 4. Mix crumbled ground beef/onion mixture into tomato sauce mixture 5. In separate bowl, mix together cottage cheese, 3 cups of shredded Italian cheese blend, and eggs 6. In 16x9 greased baking pan, pour small amount of tomato sauce/ground beef mixture to barely coat bottom of pan. 7. Place lasagna noodle sheets on bottom of pan 8. Layer lasagna: lasagna noodle sheets, tomato/ground beef sauce, cheese mixture, and repeat 9. Finish with tomato sauce on top and sprinkle 1 cup of shredded Italian cheese blend on top (can use more if you want to) 10. Bake at 350 degrees for 90 minutes or until cheese on top is golden brown and bubbling 11. Let sit for 10 minutes out of oven 12. Slice and enjoy! Notes: 1: If you want the lasagna to cook faster or don't have a 16x9 pan, use 2 8x8 pans and cook for at least 60 minutes until cheese on top is golden brown and bubbling 2: Put a baking sheet with foil on it underneath the pan in case it overflows.

We LOVE brownies! Sometimes though, it's too much effort to try to make a whole batch from scratch. We have found several ways to upgrade the taste of boxed brownies that have proven to be delicious! We normally use Betty Crocker (any chocolate one, typically just plain) or Ghiradelli (double chocolate) brownie mixes for our boxed brownies.

This is a PERFECT snack to make with children or inexperienced bakers. It's SO easy and completely crunchy and delicious (great for the sensory seeking individuals who love a crunchy snack!). You can swap out the peanut butter chips with butterscotch chips, white chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, more milk chocolate, etc. It's a super versatile recipe that allows you to be creative and use the flavors that you enjoy the most! Let us know in the comments your variations on this and what you found to work the best!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Macaroni and Cheese! We originally found this recipe in the Yellowstone National Park Cookbook by Durrae Johanek but have modified it so much from the original that it has become a semi-original recipe (which is why it's in this category instead of randomness). This recipe is cheesy, easy, and delicious! You can change up the type of cheese in here as well if you prefer another cheese. Any noodles will work for it, but we have found the original suggestion of macaroni works best. It reheats well in the microwave the next day as well (30 seconds at a time). Let us know in the comments if you try out this recipe and any modifications you might have made to it! Let us know as well if you have/get this cookbook and what recipes you enjoy most from there!

This is a super simple, hearty, soul-warming soup that is perfect for a cold winter's night. It's easy enough for an inexperienced chef to create, but tastes amazing enough to be served at a five star restaurant (at least we think so 😉). You can add in additional crunchy vegetables to this if you'd like to or omit the vegetables completely if you don't like them. Let us know in the comments if you try this out and any variations you might have or suggestions for changes to the recipe, we would love to hear them!

We aren't big breakfast people, but something we do like is an omelet! It's so versatile with ingredients that most people can figure out a version that works for them. This recipe is a basic ham and cheese one (with delicious spices), but you can definitely change up your add-on ingredients in this! What is your favorite omelet fillings? Let us know in the comments, we would love to see pictures too, just email us at: [email protected]!

If you know us, you know we are OBSESSED with cheese! This is an amazing twist on a classic appetizer that is sure to become a family favorite. Best of all, it's so simple to make, anyone can do it! This is a great use for bread that has gone stale, as baking it in the oven rejuvenates it! It's also super versatile: if you want to use low fat cheese, a different type of bread, less or more garlic, dairy-free butter, etc. you can! Let us know in the comments your variations on garlic bread 🥖, we'd love to see pictures! Let us know too in the comments if you try this out or any suggestions you might have to improve it.

Happy New Years!!! Probably if you're anything like us you've been looking forward to the end of this weird year fro a while now. And though we might be bringing in the new year differently than normal this way, you can still bring some fun to the home with this easy take on a fancy champagne cocktail, perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth!
Ingredients: - Champagne - Vanilla Icing - Sprinkles - Cotton Candy How To: 1. On the very edge of you champagne glass spread a thin layer of vanilla icing, then roll the edge of the glass in some festive sprinkles. This is optional, and just really for extra looks! 2. Grab off a small section of the cotton candy and put in the bottom of the champagne glass. Whatever color/flavor you decide is how the champagne will taste! For best flavoring the cotton candy should go halfway up the glass (while fluffy) 3. Pour champagne directly into the glass over the cotton candy, which should make the cotton candy melt. If there are still chunks at the bottom, feel free to mix it until fully dissolved. 4. Serve and enjoy! This is a super easy way to make a fancy cocktail at home, and make it look super fancy! If you're a kid at heart (with a huge sweet tooth) like us, feel free to give this a try! We know this past year has been hard and crazy for all of us, and it's been hard not having our usually sense of normally being stuck at home. We hope the year 2021 is much better for all of us, and brings everyone much more joy. We thank you all so much for being patient with us this year, and hope that soon next year we can get back into more food adventures to bring to you all. Stay safe and healthy, and happy New Year. -Love from us both, E Squared We LOVE Christmas! From the beautiful decorations and lights to the presents to the overall holiday cheer, it's our favorite time of year! One of our favorite things to do is bake at Christmas. This recipe is for Spritz cookies which are a traditional holiday cookie made every year. There are many versions of Spritz cookies, but this one is the best one that we have found so far! It makes 6 dozen cookies, so you'll have plenty to share (or eat, we won't judge 😉)
It's important to try to continue holiday traditions as much as possible, especially this year. This year has been hard for so many people, and we could all use a little holiday cheer. We want to encourage you all to reach out to others if you are feeling depressed or anxious and know that there are helplines out there such as NAMI and the national suicide prevention hotline that you can call to receive support as needed. If you would like information on these resources, send us an email at: [email protected] or google "NAMI" for more information. Without further ado, here is our Spritz cookie recipe! Please let us know in the comments if you make these cookies. We would love to see pictures of your holiday baked goods, even if they aren't Spritz cookies! Maybe I’m the only weird one, but even in the winter I tend to prefer cold drinks. Don’t get me wrong I love the classic hot cocoa..... but I just prefer it cold sometimes! Here is a easy fun spin on hot cocoa, which ends up more resembling a slushy or Starbucks Frappuccino.
Ingredients: - 4 oz. Chocolate (this could be chocolate chips, your favorite chocolate bar, anything the is easy to melt!) - I tablespoon of your favorite hot cocoa mix (I personally love the one by Ghirardelli if you haven’t given that a try yet) - 1-1.5 cups of Milk How to make this into something delicious: 1. Melt down the chocolate either by microwave or stovetop until smooth 2. Add in the hot cocoa mix 3. Stir in the milk and let it cool to room temperature. 4. Once cool in a blender add your mixture and ice and blend until smooth. Add more milk if needed to get the right texture. 4. Drink away! P.s- if you find this too savory for your taste you can always add a little sugar to sweeten it up! |
Both of us really love to cook, and we each have come up with some pretty good recipes. We will share them here!
