WE'RE BAAAAAAAAACK! *cue celebratory trumpets* Sorry for the long hiatus everyone, life kinda got in the way and we got so busy with work and home that we haven't had time to do blog posts. They will be more on a monthly-quarterly basis depending on how busy we get for the future. Life updates: Erin: Currently working as a PICU nurse at a local children's hospital, lives in the city with her boyfriend Matt and Australian Shepard Loki. Elizabeth: Currently working as a pediatric occupational therapist at a local clinic, lives in the suburbs with her two cats Sylvester and Lily and her golden retriever Coco. Now onto the food!!! We went to the Wisconsin State fair a couple weeks ago and had some AMAZING food! There were some items we weren't as thrilled with but for the most part the food was great. We will start off with our less favorite foods and move on to our favorites.
Of course there are many other things to do at the Wisconsin State Fair besides eating! (Though of course you have to get at least one glass of milk there). There is a whole amusement park at the fair that you can go to. We ended up trying out the Ferris Wheel this time and found it to be worth the money. It's about a 10 minute ride for 7 dollars each and you get amazing views of the fairgrounds and of Milwaukee. it was a nice break from the heat as well. You are in an enclosed gondola so if traditional Ferris Wheel's aren't your jam this might work out better for you. There also are big exhibition halls with quilts, cakes, pastries, fruits, veggies, bonsais, flowers and more that people submitted to the fair. There is a HUGE building with all kinds of products to look at, lottery games, and more. Another pavilion hosts Wisconsin products like cranberries, cheese, milk, goat products, fudge, cherries, maple syrup, and more. There also are lots of animals to check out including Clydesdales (our personal favorites), cows, chickens, rabbits, goats, sheep, pigs, and more. Check out our slideshow below of some of the fun activities you can see and experience at the fair: Have you ever been to the Wisconsin State Fair? If so, what are your favorite foods and things to do there? Please let us know in the comments or send an email to [email protected].

As you probably know already, the Wisconsin State fair was canceled this year. But NEVER FEAR!! They are doing an alternative so that you can still get the food that you love from the fair. They are doing a drive-through state fair! We went yesterday which was the second day that they are running it and really thought that they did a great job putting it together. The drive-through fair is running for the next four weekends (Thursday-Sunday) and will feature different restaurants every week. You go through gate 9 which is just off of 76th street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They have attendants lined up to point you in the right direction throughout the entire process. You can choose to go into a restaurant line or skip it. They give you a menu with all of the options (also can be found online, we will attach it) and tell you which stop it's at so you know where to go. Word of caution: if you see that the pretzel line looks long, it's way longer that you think it is because the line stretches all the way around the corner. Skip it if the line seems long because you'll be waiting forever and can't really get out of line (we luckily were able to get out of the line because we were at the way back, but we were SHOCKED when we saw that the line stretched around the corner with an additional 20-25 cars, thank goodness we got out of the line when we did or we might still be there now 😉) We stopped at several of the booths this weekend (note: not all of the booths we visited this weekend may be there for upcoming weekends, they rotate the menus and booths). We stopped at the following: 1. 3B Corn Dogs and Dippin' Dots (we got Dippin' Dots and ate it while waiting in other lines) 2. The Pork Schoppe (we got the butterfly pork sandwich, it was a bit spicy but Elizabeth's cat liked it so it was pretty good) 3. Kora's Cookie Dough (we got the monster cookie dough and the chocolate chip cookie dough, not our favorite, but if you adore cookie dough it's worth checking out) 4. Island Noodles (we got chicken teriyaki noodles, super delicious and you get a lot more than you think in the package. There's enough to feed two people, or one person if you're super hungry) 8. Waffle Chix (we got the mix-and-match waffles on a stick: the chicken in a waffle on a stick and the brownie in a waffle on a stick, they are delicious and super interesting!) 10, Charlie's Great Food (we got the Italian Sausage and the Smoked Jumbo Turkey Leg which were cooked to perfection) Check out all of the menus and other details including the hours of operation here (note that the menus will not be posted on the website until the Monday of that week): We apologize for not having pictures of the actual fair experience, it was just too hard to try to take pictures, drive around, find the places we wanted to go, and wrap up the food at the same time.

Let us know in the comments if you try out/are planning to try out the modified Wisconsin State Fair this year! (also please let us know if you figure out how to get cream puffs, we couldn't find the cream puffs this year but we know they have to include them 😱) Yesterday we went to the Wisconsin State Fair! This is the best fair that we have been to yet this year and is worth every penny. The weather was perfect and since we got there early in the morning, the crowds didn’t start getting unmanageable until the mid-afternoon when we were leaving. Because this is such a large fair, we couldn’t possibly see everything that there was to offer in one day! We are going to share what we did yesterday, our recommendations on what to see for sure, and of course, THE FOOD!!!! From rides to animals to food to exposition halls, there is something for all to enjoy at the Wisconsin State Fair!! Costs:
