Recently we went to try out the Puttshack, located in the Oakbrook Center. This is the sixth location, with only one other being located in the US at this time. Unlike your normal game of mini golf, the Puttshack infusing technology into the game in which the ball itself is the score card, and based on how you play you can add or lose points. The key differences to this game is that each person plays one at a time until they can get their ball into the hole, and the point is to get the highest points in the game. The Oakbrook location has four courses to play on, Each hole itself has bonus points, hazard traps (for negative points) and supertubes (for a guaranteed hole in one) to make it more fun. Also on every course you can find a opportunity at their prize wheel for different items such as discounts on food, additional points, or even a free game. There is also a bar and dining area to hang at between, or after games. We each had an appetizer and found them extremely delicious, more so than usual food you can find at similar entertainment places. Of course with our sweet tooth we couldn't leave without dessert, and oh boy was the cookie skillet to die for (literally!). Overall this can be a super family friendly place, then after 8 pm you have to be over 21 to enter, which can make this a super fun hangout for friends, or even a great place for a date. We played three of the four courses, but probably recommend only playing two. After the second game, the third course seemed to repeat a lot of elements from the previous two games for us. If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, we definitely recommend trying your hand at mini golf here.
