We found an amazing recipe for homemade fudge that is SUPER easy and SUPER addictive! It's the perfect quarantine snack and makes a huge batch!
The only thing we changed was instead of a pinch of salt, we just used salted butter and it worked out perfectly! This fudge was seriously amazing and disappeared quickly at home. We suggest doing it in a disposable 8x8 pan (which you can get from a dollar store) and REALLY spray that pan or else the fudge won't come out. By doing it in a disposable pan, you can easily put it in the fridge and then when the pan is empty you can just throw it away and not have to clean (which is always amazing). This recipe can be easily halved or doubled! We recommend using Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips in this, but you can use any others as well! The best part is that there are no fancy pieces of equipment needed, no fancy ingredients (except for the evaporated milk), and took less than an hour to put together! Let us know in the comments if you try it, and what kind of swirl or topping you add into it if you do so!!

Though this isn't original, it's a perfect recipe to go with the sourdough bread one! You can use some of your leftover starter to make these AMAZING soft pretzels.
To be honest, we probably will make sourdough starter just to make these amazing pretzels!! The pretzels pair perfectly with the BEST CHEESE SAUCE EVER recipe we have in our original recipes tab, or you could spice it up a bit and add pizza sauce, pepperoni, cheese, etc. on it! If you are super adventurous, you could even try putting everything bagel seasoning on them instead of the salt on top. To make this into a dessert, try putting cinnamon and sugar on top of it instead of the salt and dip it into caramel! Let us know in the comments if you try out this recipe or if you have any ideas for how to spice it up! This isn't in the typical original recipes tab because it isn't original. However, right now we all have a lot of free time on our hands, meaning we can try new things that we never had time for before! This includes sourdough bread. Sourdough bread is amazing, and this recipe does not disappoint! Elizabeth made this bread last week and it turned out pretty well!
The start for this recipe takes 5 days to make, but don't worry, it's very minimal effort and completely worth it! The starter can be used for other things as well such as muffins, pretzels, crackers, and more so you don't have to worry about making endless supplies of bread. The sourdough starter will last forever in the fridge as long as you take care of it. We wanted to note that you do NOT need to buy a proofing basket for this. You can just use a plain mixing bowl or other bowl! Check out the recipe here: |
